Involvement in Previously Undisclosed SEC Investigative Activity Now Appears Over – Removed From Watch List.
- In a letter dated 20-Feb-2015, the SEC told us, "... research in our database index indicates that Chevron Corporation. was listed in the search results in the matter of Chevron Corporation and, separately, the matter of Certain Illicit Payments of Libyan Officials."
- In that same letter dated 20-Feb-2015, we also received information from the SEC suggesting this company was involved in unspecified SEC investigative activity. This would be unrelated to the two matters cited above. We found no disclosure of the same as of that date.
- Now, in a letter dated 10-Apr-2015, the SEC responded in a way to tell us any investigation previously referenced was now over and the file was being remanded for further processing. We have since learned that remand turned up nothing of significance.

Notes: The SEC did not disclose the details on investigations referenced above. The SEC reminds us that its assertion of the law enforcement exemption should not be construed as an indication by the Commission or its staff that any violations of law have occurred with respect to any person, entity, or security. New SEC investigative activity could theoretically begin or end after the date covered by this latest information which would not be reflected here.
