The Tyson Foods SEC Story Does Not Add Up

Summary and Opinion:  To test the widely-reported narrative that suggests Tyson Foods’ SEC investigation, first disclosed in Feb-2017, was part of a broader industry probe, we filed Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests this winter on two of its key competitors:  Pilgrim’s Pride and Sanderson Farms.  In this report we present the FOIA data, including a document from an earlier, undisclosed Tyson SEC probe.  We also identify the Disclosure Games Tyson uses on investors regarding its SEC probe. We will explain how we know the probe is formal, it likely started earlier than Jan-17, and that the company knows much more than they claim.  Our conclusion is clear: You are being played.
