American Equity Investment Life Holding Co. – AEL:   Something Curious Between American Equity Investment Life and the SEC.   On 26-Mar-2019, the SEC cited the "law enforcement exemption" of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) as basis to deny our access to the detailed records we sought on this company.  As a matter of law, the SEC is acknowledging some sort of investigative activity when they do that.  We filed an administrative appeal to challenge the denial.  The appeal response and our full research history appears in today’s report.
